2 cups Jeeraga Samba Rice\Raw Rice
1 1/2 cups Moong dal
1/2 teaspoon Ghee
1/2 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Small pieces Ginger Cut into very small pieces
Required Salt
10 cups Water
6 Pieces Cashewnut
Curry leaves

    Venpongal is the most enticing dish and one of the tasty South Indian recipe . You can have it with Sambar, Coconut chutney and Medu vada. That combination gives spicy and rich taste to this recipe.

    Wash Rice, Moong dal. Add water, salt, ghee and ginger to a bowl and place it in pressure cooker and cook it in high flame.

    After one whistle turn the flame into simmer for 15 minutes. Now the cooked rice-dal mixture will be ready for tempering

    Tempering

    Heat a small pan in medium flame, add ghee, cashew nuts and pepper, fry until the pepper splutters. Then add jeera (cumin seeds), curry leaves. Add this to the cooked rice-dal mixture and mix it well

    Now the yummy Venpongal is ready to be served!
