Ingredients

100 gm Moong dal
Seasame Oil
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
4 small Garlic cloves
200 ml Water For boiling the Moong dal
1/4 teaspoon Mustardseeds&urad dal
1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Curry leaves
2 Red Chilli
6 Small onion
half Tomato
Required Salt
Required Hot water

    This Dal Gravy is prepared using moong dal. It requires very less ingredients and less time. It goes well with Rice and Chappathi.

    Preparation Of Ingredients

    To a bowl add washed Moong dal, Garlic cloves, Asafoetida, Turmeric powder, Oil(few drops) and water. Mix it well and place the bowl into a pressure cooker. After a whistle turn the flame to simmer and cook it for 10 more minutes.

    Heat some oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds to the pan and when the mustard seeds starts spluttering add Curry leaves, Red chilli and saute it for few seconds. Then add the Onion, chopped Tomato, Salt and saute it for a minute.

    Turn the flame to simmer and cook for 2 more minutes to bring the tomato to a mashed consistency. Add the boiled Dal mixture and hot water to it and mix it well. Bring into boil for 2 mins.

    Serve the dal gravy with rice!
