Ingredients

1/2 Kg Green Beans
Seasame Oil
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
12 Small onion
8 Small Garlic cloves
3 Green chilli
Salt
50 gm Moong dal
1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Small Piece Ginger
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
Coriander leaves

    Green Beans Poriyal or Green Beans Usili is a traditional dish from Tamilnadu. There are many varieties available. I prepared this one with Moong Dal.

    Preparation Of Ingredients

    1. Cut the Green Beans into small pieces
    2. Soak the Moong Dal for 10 mins
    3. Add the Soaked Moong Dal, 2 Green Chiil, Curry Leaves, Cumin Seeds, Ginger to a blender and blend it.

    Heat Seasame oil in a pan. Add Mustard Seeds and Curry Leaves. Once the mustard seeds starts spluttering add Garlic cloves and Onion; saute it well. Then add the Green Beans and mix it well. Cook for 5 mins.

    Add the blended Dal mixture to the pan and mix it well. Then add spices powder and saute until the beans gets cooked. Usually it would take 10 minutes.
