Ingredients

1/4 kg Chicken
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Required Salt
14 Small onion
1 big size Tomato
5 big Garlic cloves
Small piece Ginger
1 tablespoon Seasame Oil
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
1 1/2 tablespoon Curry Powder
5 pieces Coconut Pieces
1/4 teaspoon Poppy Seeds or Khus-Khus
1/4 teaspoon Fennal Seeds
4 Cashewnut
Coriander leaves
Required Water

Chicken is the most popular and easily available meat in the market. In many households Chicken dishes takes its place as the most preferred non-veg dish. This Chicken gravy recipe is a quick one which is easy to make and very tasty too. This goes well with Dosa, Idli, Rotis and Briyani.

Preparing the ingredients

Wash the Chicken thoroughly and add it to a bowl. Mix Turmeric Powder, Salt with the chicken and let it marinate. In the mean time chop the Onions, Tomato and crush the Garlic and Ginger.

Heat a pan add some Oil, Mustard Seeds, Curry leaves. When the mustard starts spluttering add the Onion, Crushed Garlic and Ginger. Saute it well for 2 minutes. After that add the tomato and fry it until the tomato get mashed.

Add the marinated Chicken to the pan and saute it until the chicken is slightly cooked. Then add the Curry Powder and mix it well. After a minute cover the pan with a lid and let be in simmer for 5 minutes

After 5 minutes of simmer add required amount of water and mix it well. Bring it to boil and keep it there for 15 minutes in medium flame.

Coconut Paste

Add Coconut pieces, Fennel seeds, Poppy seeds, Cashew-nuts to a blender. Add some water to it and blend it to a fine paste.

Add the coconut paste to the pan with boiling chicken and add some water. Then mix it well. Bring it boil and cook in medium flame for 5 more minutes.
