Ingredients

500 grams Chicken
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Required Salt
Required Seasame Oil
Required Ghee
1 piece Chinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Fennal Seeds
2 Cardamom
1 Star Anise
4 Clove
1 Mace
3 Onion
4 big Garlic cloves
small piece Ginger
1 handfull chopped Coriander leaves
1 handfull chopped Mint leaves
5 Green chilli
1/4 teaspoon Poppy Seeds or Khus-Khus
1 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
1/4 teaspoon Curry Powder
1 small Tomato
2 tablespoon Curd
3 Cup Jeera samba rice
8 1/2 cup Hot water
1/2 small Lemon

Chicken Briyani is a favorite for most of the people. In common Briyani is a popular dish in Indian subcontinent and probably all over the world. A good Chicken Briyani is not just a chunk of Chicken and Rice. Carefully added Spices and Masala makes a Chicken Briyani most delicious. I reached to this consistent taste after many trial & errors. Hope you will like this too!

Preparation

In a bowl add the cleaned Chicken, Turmeric Powder, Salt and mix it well. Leave it in the fridge and let it marinate. In the mean time chop the onions and make the rice ready.

Heat the pressure cooker add Ghee and Oil to it. Add the spices. Once spices starts spluttering add the chopped onions and saute it well until it turn to a golden brown.

Green Paste Preparation

In the blender add Coriander leaves, Mint Leaves, Green Chilli, Khus-Khus, Fennal Seeds, Ginger, Garlic Cloves and grind it. Add the blended mixture to the pressure cooker and saute it for a minute. Then add the Garam Masala and Curry powder to it and mix it well.

Add the curd mix it well. Then add marinated chicken and saute it. Cover and cook until the Chicken gets half cooked.

Add washed Rice, Hot water and bring it to boil.

Add Lemon Juice, Ghee and mix it well. Wait until the Rice starts cooking. Then turn the flame into Simmer. With the whistle on close the pressure cooker and cook for 15 minutes.
